This is an uncommon book, but I enjoyed reading it. The book tells the story of five different students in the same class. It navigates the story of these students going through difficult times at home and at school, where they are forced to prepare for a standardised test all day. This book tells the story of a girl, Natalie, who is an aspiring lawyer like her parents, Scott who is intelligent but clumsy, Gavin who loves football but his family can’t afford for him to play, Randi whose mom forces her to be perfect at both school and gymnastics, ignoring her happiness and choices, and Trevor, who loves football and has an abusive brother. All of these students have a motive to get a good score on their test, but some are willing to go to unethical means to do this. This is a typical high school story and a light read.
