A Christmas Carol is one of my favourite Christmas books, so I find it really cool that there is a retold version by Geronimo Stilton. Except for the main characters all being mice, and some references to different types of cheese, this book stays true to the original story. There are some bits that little kids may find a little creepy, like the illustrations of the Ghost of Christmas Future, but the book has a happy ending so they should be fine. The book ends with the important message “that everymouse- no matter how big or small, rich or poor, kind or ill tempered- had the right to be happy and loved”. Surprisingly, I learnt new things about Charles Dickens from the biography at the end of this book!
This is a must read for all 6-7 year olds during the Christmas season.
