Lila is back again with another review!
I’d like to recommend this book for ages 8-10. It’s about four children- Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy who discover that there’s more to the professor’s house than endless gigantic hallways. There’s a wardrobe filled with mothballs that pours out into snowy woods- the kingdom of Narnia. Beyond a lamp post and acres of woods there lies the castle of the White Witch. The White Witch is the antagonist of the book, an evil, ghostly and white- faced lady who tries to rule Narnia with lots of success. She’s made sure that it’s always winter with no Christmas and endless foggy days. When the protagonist, Aslan, a great enchanted lion, comes to Narnia, he is the only one who can resolve the issue. He can easily do this with the help of the four children but maybe not without sacrificing his own life. A beautifully written classic, C. S. Lewis paints a vivid picture through his words and takes us back to the late 1950s.
