Lila is back with a couple of reviews this month. She is currently really into murder mysteries. This book is part of the Murder Most Unladylike series. I really liked this series, which is reviewed in the Realistic Fiction section for ages 11-12. Here’s her review of a Christmas themed mystery:
The Wells and Wong Detective Society is back with a new murder case to solve! This time it's taking place on Christmas day! Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong are travelling to Cambridge university to visit Daisy's brother, Bertie. Then of course, they stumble upon a murder! Bertie’s friend Chummy and Chummy’s twin Donald are turning twenty-one on Christmas day and Donald who is older than Chummy by five minutes is to inherit all their family money. This is not good news to Chummy. When he attempts some dangerous pranks, everyone thinks he is trying to murder Donald to steal all the money from him. But then, Chummy dies himself! Has the murderer got the wrong victim? What was the murderer thinking? Daisy and Hazel have a long list of suspects to track down and a dangerous investigation awaits them…
The same author has also recently released The Body in the Blitz as part of her new series "The Ministry of Unladylike Activity".
