This is a picture book about a young boy whose toy castle breaks. He is really upset by this and he encounters many different animals who want him to deal with his emotions the same way they deal with theirs. A bear wanted to shout and be angry, the hyena wanted to laugh, the ostrich wanted to hide, the kangaroo wanted to throw it away and a snake wanted to knock down someone else's castle. The boy pushed all of these animals away. Ultimately, he encounters a rabbit who stays with him and just listens, while he expresses all the emotions he is feeling. Rabbit does not leave. This book teaches little kids (and actually everybody) the importance of listening and letting people express their own emotions while feeling supported. It also emphasises that people have different ways of expressing their emotions. This is a great book!
