This year is the 200th anniversary of this poem, which was originally titled “ A Visit From St. Nicholas” and which is commonly known as “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. It’s perhaps the best Christmas poem I have read and also a great bedtime story. My favourite part is when Santa names all his reindeer.  I also just discovered that Rudolf is missing from the original poem and seems to have been added on later!  This is a super book to read to children at bedtime on Christmas Eve.  It also makes for a great Christmas present.
