Probably best described as a masterpiece of writing, Matt Haig’s’ The Girl who Saved Christmas is an outstanding way to depict the well known motto everything is possible through a heartwarming story about Amelia Wishart, the sweet elf Noosh, Father Christmas and of course, Little Mim. It’s about a girl who lives with her mother in Haberdashery Road. Then one day, her mother passes away and she is sent to live with Mr. Creeper in a workhouse not very

far away. Over there she is made to scrub walls, hang upside down from the ceiling, jump into a cold bath and pretend to have fun. Two Christmases later, Father Christmas disguised as a night inspector sneaks into Creeper’s Workhouse and tries to save Amelia Wishart and take her to live in a safer place. But then, things are not going to plan with reindeers dropping out of the sky, time freezing and starting again and good old Mr Creeper finding evil ways to

trick Amelia into being locked up in the dungeon for good. The elf workshop back in Elfhelm is also crumbling with trolls making cracks in the floor and giant troll fists poking up from the ground and crushing skyscrapers. Will Father Christmas have to cancel Christmas for good? Also by the same author is A Boy Called Christmas.
