I have a guest on my website this month. Lila Kapur Gandhi is 8 years old and a book and nature fanatic in equal measure. This is her recommendation for 8-10 year olds this month.

 

The plot is about a boy called Rio Turner whose mum is in hospital. Rio really wants his mum to get better and he is soon sent away to live with his aunt, Fran. There she gives him his mum’s drawing notebook which has detailed sketches of a whale, White Beak. He then decides to go on a whale watching tour to click pictures of White Beak to make his mum feel better. He successfully finds White Beak and even bonds with her, but when White Beak goes missing, he may be the only one who can help! Join Rio on an amazing quest to find White Beak and put her out of danger! Readers who love nature would enjoy this book!
