Flora and Ulysses

Kate DiCamillo

Lila is back with another review! While this isn’t my favorite Kate DiCamillo, Lila seems to have really enjoyed it.  Here is her review:

I loved this book as the plot was interesting, characters amusing and most of all- it was beautifully written. It's all about when Flora sees her neighbor vacuuming a squirrel in their backyard. Flora stops her just in time and adopts and names the squirrel. The squirrel now named Ulysses has many fun and interesting adventures with Flora. From going to eat giant doughnuts and flying out of Rita's hair, to whacking Mr Claus the cat and sending him zooming away, Flora soon finds out Ulysses is a superhero! But when Flora's mother attempts to kidnap and murder Ulysses, Flora has to set out on a dangerous quest in the dead of night in order to save her beloved pet. A tale of humour, cynics and squirrels, Kate DiCamillo takes us through a captivating tale starring Ulysses- the world's best squirrel!
