This picture book tells the story of B.R.Ambedkar. It starts with his experiences of discrimination during his childhood purely on the basis of his caste. From having to drink water from a different well, and being made to sit on the floor in his classroom, the book makes a young reader aware of real life experiences faced on account of the caste system. The book goes on to describe his pursuit of an education and ultimately his role in drafting the Indian constitution. This is a good book to introduce children to concepts of caste and to the lasting contribution of Ambedkar to India today.
